Trade Plan for Week 19 – 2024

The following are the notable earnings for this week:

PLTR –  earnings will be released on May 6, after market. Closed last May 3 at $23.33. I like PLTR to trade this to the upside as its financial health is improving year over year. It also recently gained more military contracts due to global conflict. I will be checking the call premiums with the strike of 25c / 28 / 30c.

DIS – earnings will be released on May 7, before market. Closed last May 3 at $113.66.  In my opinion, on the technical side, the gap will be filled at 98 level due to the earnings result. I think the high cost of living has a big impact on the future income of this company. On top of this, the streaming service segment of Disney is having a hard time to be at par with other streaming services such as NFLX. I will be checking the put contract premium with the strike of 100p / 98p/ 95p.

RACE – earnings will be released on May 7, before market. Closed last May 3 at $430.29. This is a very good company no doubt about this but my trade here is purely technical. I think whatever the earnings result is, there will be a lot of profit taking. I will check the contract premium for 400p/ 390p/ 370p. Bid/Ask spread might be wide due to volume so see if the odds are with you.

RIVN – earnings will be released on May 7, after market. Closed last May 3 at $10.07. This company is not making money so far and the cash burn is high. In my opinion, this will only trade to the upside if the company gives a positive forward guidance and if the earnings will result in lower loss per share. I like to check the call contract premium strike  at 12c / 14c/ 15c

SHOP – earnings will be released on May 8, before market. Closed last May 3 at $74.46. Last earnings, the company beat the analyst estimates. I want to see a higher number of merchants signing up for this platform before I turn bullish on this stock. I will be checking the put contract premium of 65p/ 60p/ 57p.

Nothing is guaranteed here. Stocks mentioned above could trade sideways depending on the earnings outcome.
